I just arrived in Vancouver B.C., cleared Canadian customs and was continuing to proceed through the scanner when a customs lady asked me if I wanted to do a Volunteer Screening? I said "Sure" :( I was distracted with finding my next gate and didn't really think about what I just said. She asked me to walk down this hallway and proceeded to follow the arrows. I walked into a big room with a bunch of angry chinese people yelling at customs officials and the interpreter was trying to interpret their yelling. Than on my right I saw a couple guys tattooed to their ears. This is when I started thinking Oh Crap, what did I get myself into. The Volunteer Screening turned into a Volunteer Strip Search. When all is said and done 2 hours later I walked out learning Never say yes to Volunteer work again, at least not with Canadians. :)
Looking forward to getting to the Philippines. Hopefully they aren't so aggressive. :) Say NO to Volunteer Screening(aka strip search) next time at customs.
Oh, my goodness! At least you can't say you didn't have an adventure! As long as you give them a tip at the airport in manila, they'll probably like you...no more volunteering! Think before you say,"yes", again.... ;p
ReplyDeleteHave a safe flight...at least you're flying first class, right?
